44 cats seized from home in Schuylkill County

Officials say it was a hoarding and negligence case.

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Dozens of cats were abducted from a home on Saturday morning in Schuylkill County.

Law enforcement officials said they received a complaint earlier this week for a strong cat smell from a house in the city of Mahanoy.

Hillside SPCA claims to have pulled 44 cats out of the house along High Road.

Refuge officials say it is a case of hoarding and neglect, but it is putting a strain on the organization as they fought over the pandemic.
