All five members of the department are on medical leave from EMS Station 49, 25-3 Hoyt Avenue.
Last week, the NYPD announced it had 36 suspected cases by the first week of October.

FDNY and EMS medical leave is still less than 3%.
The FDNY says the department is closely monitoring the situation and contacts are currently being searched and tested.
They said the following efforts have been made to contain COVID within the department’s ranks:
-All locations and FDNY appliances are cleaned regularly.
– Since the start of the pandemic, the Department has produced extensive training and messaging for all members on COVID response and mitigation.
-The department continues to produce messages reminding all members of the fundamental importance of face coverings.
Since March, more than 5,000 FDNY members have had a COVID diagnosis.
