Adobe Lightroom is getting cinema-style color grading

Adobe is adding a new advanced color correction feature to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and Camera Raw, bringing a tool most commonly associated with video and film editing to its professional photography apps.

Lightroom will now have a new color grading panel similar to the Lumetri panel in Adobe Premiere Pro video editor, which will allow you to separate midtones from shadows and highlights with a new three-wheel system. There is also a global luminance wheel and a blend slider.

Adobe hasn’t said when the new color grading features will be available, but in the video above, Pei Ketron of the Adobe Lightroom team says there will be more information at the company’s Adobe Max virtual conference starting on October 20.
