AMD’s latest batch of new graphics cards, the mid-range Radeon RX 5700 series, haven’t wowed with their high-end designs or performance, but the new Radeon RX 6000 looks like it might actually be the long-awaited answer to flagship graphics cards from Nvidia.
When I say “looks”, I mean it literally, though: AMD today revealed its new card design on Twitter, and its triple fan, giant cover, and dual 8-pin power connectors show it’s visually ready to play the part. .

It’s also a more refined look than its previous flagship Radeon VII.
Surprisingly, AMD lets you control a full rendering of the card in its own Fortnite island, although we don’t expect many surprises that you can’t already see in the high resolution image below:
Nvidia offered a similar tease for its RTX 3090 design prior to its recent GPU revelations, and we also recently took a longer look at the RTX 3080 design.
AMD is expected to formally reveal the RX 6000 series at an event on October 28, well after shipping the $ 700 Nvidia RTX 3080, but potentially before purchasing a $ 500 RTX 3070, which is also expected to arrive in October. Maybe it’s worth the wait to see what kind of performance the AMD card has up its sleeve. Speaking of which, the new GPUs will share the same GPU architecture as the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X.
