BLACKPINK has set another impressive record!
On October 7, YG Entertainment sued Hanteo Chart, revealing that BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM” has achieved approximately 590,000 sales in a single day since the group’s release of their physical album on October 6. This means BLACKPINK broke the IZ * ONE record where 389,334 copies of “Oneiric Diary” were sold in the first week.
YG Entertainment explained: “Considering that the number of albums exported to the US and Europe is not included in the total, the actual number of album sales is expected to be even higher.”
Previously, BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM” surpassed 1 million stock pre-orders, which is the highest number of stock pre-orders ever recorded for a group of K-pop girls, making BLACKPINK the first Korean girl group to surpass the million pre-order shares.
The number of stock pre-orders is the amount of album stock produced before the album was released. This number is the estimated demand calculated based on various factors, including the number of albums pre-ordered by fans.
