Cornerback Saivion Smith entering NFL draft

Cornerback Saivion Smith will enter the draft NFL 2019 rather than return to Alabama for his senior season. He made the announcement in a post on his Twitter profile.

He started 12 games for Crimson Tide at the cornerback, finishing sixth in the team with 60 tackle and posting three interceptions from three teams.

He opened the season as an appetizer, then he was joined in the third game during the Alabama victory over Ole Miss on Sept 1

5. Smith returned to the starting lineup in the seventh game of the season when he started the cornerback Trevon Diggs broke his foot against Arkansas.

It could be the only piece of Crimson Tide Secondary with starting experience that will not come back. Diggs played the first six games as an appetizer before his injury, but decided to return for the last year. Freshman Patrick Surtain II has started the last 11 games of the season.

Cornerback could have been a crowded position in the depth chart with Josh Jobe vying for his second season and freshman Jalyn Armor-Davis ready to play after suffering a season- finish the injury in the beginning in 2018. It should remain a strong point of the roster even with Smith's departure.

Start of security Xavier McKinney will be a junior. Redshirt junior Even Deionte Thompson could come back. Shyheim Carter who played nickel, will be a senior and Jared Mayden who entered the dime package, also returns.

Smith was a high school five-star recruit who chose the LSU out of the IMG Academy in Florida, but left Baton Rouge after his freshman season. She spent 2017 at a junior college in Mississippi before moving to Alabama with the 2018 signing class. She was one of the best young college recruits and the number one in college defense defenses No.

Alabama announced on Friday four subclasses would leave for the NFL, including the line defender Quinnen Williams .
