A fifth resident of Humboldt County died after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
The individual was in his 70s and died in the first week of September in an out-of-area medical facility. Public health was notified via the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange, known as CalREDIE, as this person had a permanent residence in Humboldt County but was not living in the county at the time of death.
The total number of county residents who have confirmed they have contracted the virus now stands at 447, after five new cases were reported today.
