Crowded downtown Houston nightclub recorded on video

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A video was recorded over the weekend showing people standing nearby in a busy Houston nightclub and circulating online.

The video was shot at the Spire Night Club in downtown Houston. A woman with a mask is seen crossing, but others around her in the video are not wearing face coatings.

Carson Zoch, who posted the video on Twitter, wrote: “Imagine giving priority to your” social life “over people’s real lives. It’s not about you anymore, you’re putting others at risk.”

On Monday, the mandatory mask order of the Harris County magistrate, Lina Hidalgo, entered into force, which required all residents over the age of 10 to wear facades in commercial businesses.

Governor Greg Abbott ordered all bars closed and reduced restaurant capacity to 50% in Texas on Friday, after the state recorded a record of 3 consecutive days of COVID-19 cases.

Harris County Fire Commissioner said the complaints hotline and website form received 580 complaints because of overcrowding and / or open businesses when they should not have been, but have not yet been issued citations.

ABC13 spoke to one of the club owners. The owner said that the disco has opened because they are registered as a restaurant.
