Netflix sees your obsession with their fantasy campy drama The Witcher and lifts you Cursed, another high fantasy medieval drama, this time starring 13 reasons why star Katherine Langford. Cursed she plays Langford as Nimue, AKA the Lady of the Lake, while she is given the task of delivering the legendary Excalibur sword to Merlin, played by Gustaf Skarsgård, AKA the central (and most mysterious) brother of Skarsgård. Devon Terrell, protagonist of Obama’s biopic Barry, is traveling for the role of Arthur (not yet king). As with the course of medieval television dramas, there is a good deal of horseback fighting, forbidden romance and evil eldritch. There is also a tonne sword talks in the trailer, including “the sword is cursed”, “hold that sword and guide”, and, a personal favorite, “this is the type of sword that makes you notice.” Cursed, defined as a “reinvented Arthurian legend”, it is based on the graphic novel of the same name as Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. The series will premiere on Netflix on July 17th.
