Sephora's customers are passionately pushing the brand to cut ties with Lori Loughlin's daughter, Olivia Jade Giannulli, in the wake of this week's massive admission scandal.
Giannulli, an influential of Instagram and YouTube beauty vlogger, launched his makeup palette with Sephora in December 2018 while he was a student at the University of Southern California. According to Sephora's website, the palette, which sells for $ 28 and seems to be sold out, was his "first makeup collaboration".
Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $ 500,000 in bribes to get Olivia Jade Giannulli (and her sister, Isabella Rose Giannulli) at USC and in the school's crew team. (No daughter participated in the sport, according to court documents.) The couple was among more than 40 individuals, including actress Felicity Huffman, who are also accused of corruption.
After the news of the scandal, Sephora's customers unleashed their anger in the product review section on the page of the Olivia Jade X Sephora palette . Some people have even threatened to boycott the mark if they hadn't removed the product from its website.
"They will not rely on negative cheaters; I will cast all my current Sephora; remove this affiliation with Olivia jade before buying more, "wrote a commentator.
Another wrote: "Why this product is still on your website. If this does not go down quickly I will never spend another penny on Sephora. Her previous comments about wanting to go to college to celebrate "It's quite ridiculous. It is no coincidence that Sephora continues to have this on your site. Take it now!"
An individual wrote that Olivia Jade and her family "should be ashamed of themselves," adding, "I will never negotiate again at Sephora unless you let it fall like a hot potato ".
"Sephora, if you had a half idea, you'll cut all the bonds with this family and throw these palettes into the discount basket", read another comment. "What an embarrassment."
People also expressed their disappointment on Sephora on Twitter.
Sephora did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Olivia Jade Giannulli has tackled the backlash on Instagram as well, with individuals leaving hordes of negative comments on paid posts that allude to her status as a university student. Comments on recent photos have apparently been disabled.
According to Variety, the influencer could lose other brand sponsorship agreements following the scandal. It is not clear if he was fully aware of the alleged actions of his parents. However, as reported by USA Today, court documents state that his father sent his "action photo" about a rowing machine to supplement the claims that she was a helmsman of the crew.
HuffPost has contacted a representative for Giannulli and updates this post accordingly.
