Cyberpunk 2077 Studio Head responds to mandatory Crunch reports



CD Projekt Red Head of Studio Adam Badowski responded to a Bloomberg report on mandatory studio crunch, saying the move was “one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make,” but noting that the developers of Cyberpunk 2077 will be “well compensated for every extra hour they put in. ”This follows a report from yesterday, which contained an email from Badowski sent to CD Projekt Red staff. The reported email says the studio will enact six-day mandatory work weeks prior to the release of Cyberpunk 2077 in November after “extending all other means of addressing the situation.” CD Projekt Red previously promised its employees that they would not be forced to munch on the game, in an interview with Kotaku in 201

Badowski released a statement in response to Bloomberg’s Twitter report. “These last 6 weeks are our final sprint on a project that we have all spent most of our lives on. Something we care deeply about. Most of the team understands this drive,” Badowski’s statement read.

“This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but everyone is well compensated for every extra hour they put in,” adds Badowski. “And, as in recent years, 10% of the annual profit our company generates in 2020 will be shared directly between the team.”
