Marvel has released a new poster for its highly anticipated film, "Avengers: Endgame", on Thursday morning, but has not received the extremely positive response that the company would have liked. Danai Gurira fans turned to social media to express their indignation after the actress was the film's only star in the photo on the poster – and not billed at the top.
The poster features all 13 characters, including Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. The heroes of the film are standing together, modified to look different, and seem ready for battle, while the villain from the movie Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, overlaps a purple background.
All the actors in the picture are billed on top of the poster, except "" star Danai Gurira, who plays Okoye in the film. She is one of the four female characters featured in the image and one of two African-American characters. Fans of the actress hurried to Twitter to express their frustration that Gurira's name was not included in the graphic.
Twitter user @VonKnight called the Marvel "photoshop team".
While, user @astarwarstori indicated that Bradley Cooper, who gives Rocket the voice of the raccoon, has been named, but not Gurira, who appears in the film
A Twitter user took the correction in his own hands, writing in the name of Gurira on the poster.
It appears that Marvel has received fan messages. On Thursday afternoon, the company tweeted a new poster, with the name of Gurira added to the top. "He should have been up there all this time" wrote Marvel Studios on Twitter. "Have a look at the official #AvengersEndgame poster of Marvel Studios. @DanaiGurira #WakandaForever."
"Avengers: Endgame" will be publishedand is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It's a sequel to "Avengers: Infinity War."
