Democrats, the official Twitter account of the Democratic National Committee, raised their eyebrows Monday evening for accusing President Trump of “glorifying white supremacy” after planning a July 4th celebration in Mount Rushmore.
Trump is slated to witness a firework display at the iconic landmark that honors George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
But a tweet from the Democrats’ official Twitter page questioned the president for holding the event there and shared a link to an article published by The Guardian last week on the criticism he received from the Native American community.
“Trump disrespected native communities over and over again,”

Critics have hammered Democrats for the tweet, which has since been canceled.
“It would be curious to hear @TheDemocrats explain which part of shooting fireworks on Mount Rushmore for July 4th” glorifies white supremacy. “The fireworks? Mount Rushmore itself? July 4th?” GOP pollster Logan Dobson asked. “As I think I know what they are insinuating here, and the tweet was obviously designed to say something behind them, but it would be really instructive if they were really made to answer the question.”
“Democrats think Mt Rushmore is a demonstration of white supremacy. There is no way to save this country if Biden is elected,” tweeted radio host Jason Rantz.

“Quite disappointing that when Democrats held the WH and Congress a few years ago, they left this ‘glorifying white supremacy’ monument,” joked writer Jeryl Bier.
“All Republicans have to do is run on a” Hey, at least we’re not the Democrats’ platform, “said” The Rubin Report “author and host Dave Rubin.
