Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently revealed that he had undergone C5-C6 spinal cord surgery. This was SpaceX founder ‘s response to a question from Twitter user Andy Phillips who noticed a scar located somewhere on Elon’s neck. Phillips also has a similar scar, sparking his curiosity as to whether Elon Musk underwent surgery or not.
Elon Musk reveals that his first surgery was a failure
The CEO of the technology then stepped in and stated that he previously had a Mobi-C, which is a type of cervical disc prosthesis, which was previously inserted into his C5-C6 segment of the spinal cord. He then revealed shocking news that the first surgery was actually a failure as he was unable to remove the bone spur that attached directly to the spinal cord.
He then said the second surgery proved to be a success. Elon Musk is normally a man who does his research before suggesting anything and this is evident in his numerous interviews such as one in particular he had with Jim Bridenstine of Everyday Astronaut, a popular YouTube channel and Twitter page.
Elon Musk, in regards to his previous surgeries, suggests people use Yelp or maybe other types of online reviews specifically from doctors. He said the effectiveness varies greatly, but this was his overall recommendation.
Maybe I can help. Had the Mobi-C disc been inserted into C5-C6, however, the first surgery failed to remove the bone spur that was attaching to the spinal cord. The 2nd surgery dealt with it. Recommend using Yelp or other online medical reviews. The effectiveness varies greatly. ̵1; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 17, 2020

Neuralink by Elon Musk. Could they be related?
Elon Musk’s newest company known as Neuralink has revolved around technology that enhances and restores certain body movements by improving the way the brain works. Neuralink recently announced a coin-sized chip that the company wants to be able to insert into the skull later so that certain threadlike threads facilitate and improve the way the brain works and repair certain functions that would otherwise have become problematic.
While no official correlation has been announced, Neuralink wants to help people with physical disabilities due to injuries or naturally born with such disabilities. The goal is to help people who have lost certain bodily functions due to injuries and recover them along with improving existing ones.
Neuralink has received mixed reviews and an article has been written by Fortune about him that addresses the question, “Could Neuaralik affect his reputation?” Despite the mixed reputation Neuralink has received, both Tesla and SpaceX have been quite successful this year and are getting bigger and bigger despite the ongoing pandemic. While other companies like Airbnb were nearly crushed by the pandemic, Tesla and SpaceX have both risen in value according to an Electrek article.
