The trailer for The Mandalorian second season has finally arrived and the time has almost come. His an epic trailer this gives us a fantastic anticipation of what is about to happen, but at the same time reveals almost nothing about what is really happening in a galaxy far, far, far away.

So to fill in some of the blanks that the trailer conveniently, intentionally leaves out, we wanted to recap all the news we’ve heard so far. Here iseverything we have learned, or think we have learned, about The Mandalorian second season from the end of the first season.

Officer

There isn’t “much” in the way of official news – Lucasfilm tries to keep things close to the vest – but there are some. We know the show is back on Disney + October 30. It’ll once again be eight episodes (meaning we’ll probably be out for the full season before the end of the year), though not all episodes will be the same length. There will be more new characters (more on that later), more planets, more a galactic atmosphere, and not all episodes will focus exclusively on the Mandalorian and the Child.

Things will pick up more or less soon after Season 1 ends, with Mando (aka Din Djarin) and baby (aka Baby Yoda) setting out on a journey to figure out their place in the world. As expected, they will be haunted by Darksaber keeper Moff Gideon, whose relationship with Mando is likely to change. (And he will use that Darksaber A lot.)

Episodes will be directed by series co-creator Jon Favreau (for the first time), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga himself), Robert Rodriguez, and Peyton Reed, as well as returning directors such as Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard. (There are only seven. Someone does double duty.)

As for the revelations in the trailer, as you can see in our analysis, only reinforces the above information. New planets, a bigger journey, etc. Very little in the way of specificity. There are some Gamorrean fights (which Favreau teased last year) and a mysterious new character played by WWE superstar Sasha Banks. This, by far, was the biggest revelation, though we’re not sure who he’s playing.

If a lot of things seem vague, well, welcome to the club. It’s a lot and nothing. But there is more than just the officer.

The voices

Gina Carano (Dear Dune) says not all of these rumors are true.

Most of the biggest rumors about what could happen in the second season of The Mandalorian they have to do with casting. The juiciest is that of Rosario Dawson attend the show as ex The Jedi Apprentice transformed the tough rebel Ahsoka Tano, which he would be the first time we have watch the character of Dave Filoni-George Lucas live action. If true, he would be a character who knew the importance of the is a child and could help the Mandalorian in his search. It also has a its whole story remains to be told.

Another exciting rumor has to do with a fellow bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor. We think Temura Morrison, who played the base for the Jango Fett Clone Army, could participate in the show like none other than former Sarlacc resident Boba Fett. Since Boba Fett is literally a genetic clone of Jango, Morrison is the only actor for the job. But the question is, “Wait, isn’t Boba really dead?” We must see.

But wait, There’s more. Prior to The MandalorianThe first season, when the latest fans have seen Darksaber, was in the hands of Bo-Katan Kryze, voiced by Katee Sackhoff The Clone Wars is Rebels. Well, since he doesn’t have it anymore, it seems likely he may want it back. Rumor has it Sackhoff could reprise his live-action voice role here. This casting entry, of all of them, it makes the most sense. The plot has already been well prepared.

Oh, and it’s also possible that Morrison will do double duty and play Captain Rex, carrying Dave Filoni’s. Clone War dream full circle. But, again, this is it just one voice.

These might be the big names of the characters in terms of voices, but they’re just the beginning. Actor Timothy Olyphant is also allegedly participate in the show, in a minor role from the novels like a character named Cobb Vanth. Vanth uses an old Mandalorian armor set he found on Tatooine (hmm, wasn’t that the Sarlacc Pit on Tatooine?) To promote peace and justice in a nearby settlement. Except he’s not Mandalorian, he’s just posing. If Olyphant is really playing that role, perhaps he would meet any number of Mandalorian bounty hunters – and they probably wouldn’t be too happy with him. Again, just a rumor, but intriguing and fascinating.

Long last, the latest great casting entry: Michael Biehn, co-star of Aliens is Terminator, apparently joining in an unspecified role.

Mandalorian Cast member Gina Carano recently said, “Some of them are real, some of them aren’t“As for the casting rumors, so time will tell if she is honest or not. Either way, all of these characters somehow loosely fit into a story that loosely fits the claims we officially know. We just need the glue to put it all together.

Season 3?

The last unofficial, but very likely, thing to know about the second season of The Mandalorian it is unlikely to be the end of the series. Although the covid-19 pandemic has certainly made the physical production of content more difficult, credible sources say the third season it is already under development. This means that regardless of whether this is true or not, more Mando is likely to come.

We’ll find out more about all of this if a second trailer is released, and more when The Mandalorian the second season will debut on October 30th.
