A "developer room", apparently inaccessible, in [Fall1965 led to a market for illicit items within the community, including the content not yet published. Exactly how Fallout 76 got access to this developer room – a residual development created for testing purposes – is not clear. However, it is said that room items were traded on any number of accounts, included as part of real money transactions, and Bethesda began banning accounts known to visit this secret room.
As reported by Eurogamer, this developer room was hidden inside Fallout 76 all the time. It is known that Bethesda implements these types of rooms in her games for testing purposes, providing developers with a location where they can easily access all items. In single player games, you can reach the position via a console administration command. In Fallout 76 the room had to be completely out of reach. Until it was.
How the players understood how to get to the room is not clear yet, although it is said to have been discovered some time ago but it was kept secret. These players go to the room, take any object they like and bring them back to the normal game world. Since the room probably required some kind of exploit or access hack, it is not surprising that the articles it contains were sold for money in online gray markets.
The objects inside the room included all sorts of things, but the most interesting are the unpublished electric armor paintings. These paints are called Winterized, Military and Atom Cats and will probably be introduced into the game naturally as part of an upcoming update.
Bethesda is now aware of the situation and bans the accounts traveling to the developer room. Although without comment, it is unclear whether Bethesda has plans for further measures, such as the total removal of the room or the elimination of the elements it has acquired. Given these ambiguous consequences, some users continue to abuse the developer room and quickly transfer items to other accounts before a ban can take effect. The result is a continuous gray market for objects taken illegitimately.
It seems that Fallout 76 the ongoing problems are probably not resolved anytime soon. That said, Bethesda is fixing them as they come and Fallout 76 is really the best. However, this problem with the developer room can not be easy for players to handle.
Fallout 76 is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
