LAS VEGAS (FOX5 / AP) – The FBI Las Vegas confirmed that a federal search warrant was served on a house in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.
Law enforcement with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, SWAT and FBI were spotted at the home Wednesday morning, located near Buffalo Drive and Sahara Avenue. YouTuber Arman Izadi lives in the house.
“The FBI has executed a federal search warrant in connection with an ongoing investigation,” FBI officials said. “No further information can be released at this time.”
LVMPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to TMZ, the Las Vegas investigation is linked to an FBI investigation into the home of YouTube star Jake Paul in Calabasas. Izadi and Paul are friends.
Paul’s attorney Richard Schonfeld said Paul was out of state at the time the warrant was served.
“We learned that a search warrant was carried out on Jake’s home in Calabasas this morning while Jake was out of state,” Schonfeld said in an email. “We are still collecting information and will cooperate with the investigation.”
“Well, I’ve had a tough morning, but we’ll try to end the day right here,” Izadi said in his Instagram story Wednesday. It has over a million followers.
“I understand that you are really worried about the raid that took place on my house. In the meantime we have a villa to paint. The Barbies are here and we have [expletive] work to do, “he said in the video.
The Instagram story then shows about a dozen women waving cans of spray paint.
“Today it was just Barbie Mansion. It was going to be our last shoot to paint the house pink, ”said Richard Ochoa, who helps organize events in the house. He said they run a legitimate company and rent the house through Airbnb.
Ochoa was present when the FBI agents showed up at their door.
“They arrived here around 6 this morning. We opened the gate for them to enter. They woke the staff up with a couple of flash bangs which was pretty exciting, P.A. systems … They searched the property, looking for a certain person residing in Southern California, “Ochoa said, referring to Paul.
The investigation is linked to the charges against the two in Arizona. In May, investigators accused Paul, Izadi and another man of looting Scottsdale Fashion Square after a protest.
But Izadi said on instagram: “A lot of people talk about garbage. Many people invent things online today. I won’t go into any other detail except … all they wanted to know was Arizona. “
The local television news helicopter video showed agents collecting several rifles from the sprawling property with a boxing ring and hot tub in the back yard that appears in many of Paul’s recent YouTube videos.
A SWAT team initially entered the property, Eimiller said. No arrests were made.
Scottsdale, Arizona police on Wednesday said they dismissed charges of criminal trespassing and illegal reunion against Paul and two others “so that a federal criminal investigation can be completed,” but which could be dismissed later. .
Paul had been charged there when he appeared on video in June inside a Scottsdale shopping center where a large crowd of people had broken into, ransacking shops.
Paul said in a subsequent YouTube video that he was only looking for people protesting George Floyd’s death, and took no part in any destruction.
Paul, 23, has over 20 million followers on his YouTube channel, which features stunts, jokes, stories from his personal life and most recently music videos.
He became famous thanks to the short video app Vine and spent two years as an actor on the Disney Channel show “Bizaardvark”. His older brother, Logan Paul, has a similar YouTube channel with even more followers.
Neighbors have been complaining to the media for several years about the stunts Jake Paul did on the property for his YouTube channel.
Last month, Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub harshly criticized him after a video of dozens of people surfaced at a party at his home during the coronavirus outbreak, with no apparent masks or social distances.
Izadi did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Las Vegas FBI said they cannot provide information because it is an ongoing investigation.
