If you have not followed the news, the tensions between Huawei and the United States are high. In the event that things get really ugly and Huawei is banned from using Google's Android operating system on its smartphones or Windows on its computers, the company already has backup operating systems.
Speaking to Die Welt Huawei executive Richard Yu states: "We have prepared our operating system, if we find that we can no longer use these systems, we will be ready and we will have our plan B".
According to reports from the beginning of 201
In the United States, Huawei would have zero possibilities without the Android operating system. However, in other markets, it may not be the end of the world for the smartphone business. After all, they make their own smartphone processors. For PCs, however, Huawei uses Intel silicon and, if a ban occurs similar to the one it did for ZTE, Huawei would have to look elsewhere for its laptop processors. However, any kind of prohibition is detrimental to business.
Our hope is that this will never happen. Although it is not a positive choice for Huawei in the United States, it would be even worse if the company were forced to completely give up Android.
