Fortnite features improved graphics with ray-tracing on September 17th

FortniteIt is about to receive a graphic update soon, at least for some players. On September 17th, Nvidia will launch a whole suite of new graphics updates primarily focused on real-time ray tracing.

Real-time ray tracing is one of the defining features of Nvidia’s RTX range of cards, as well as AMD’s upcoming graphics cards. New features include ray-traced reflections with glossy glass surfaces that will show what’s behind you in real time, ray-traced shadows for more realistic darkness and detailed shadows, and a host of other lighting upgrades.

Nvidia even created a custom Fortnite map called RTX Treasure Run. This map was designed with the help of the members of Fortnite Creative community to allow players to search for treasure in an environment designed to showcase some of the real-time ray tracing capabilities.
