All senior leaders who have come into contact with Ray have now been tested twice for Covid-19, once on Tuesday after Ray’s diagnosis and once again on Wednesday. None of the other senior leader tests came back positive, Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said.
“We will continue to follow CDC guidelines for self-quarantine and contact tracing,” Hoffman said.
The Pentagon considers the senior officials meeting last Friday as the source of the potential spread of the virus, not a Gold Star event at the White House on September 27 attended by President Donald Trump, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley . , Ray and other senior military leaders.
Milley, Vice President General John Hyten, and other leaders who have come into contact with Ray continue to isolate and perform their duties via secure phone and video calls, officials said.
