HBO released a 39-second trailer for the upcoming eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" on Thursday with some clues about what's to come. The series returns in April.
Even if there is no movie in the hit series in the clip, it seems that the ice is coming down from the north and will soon cover everything completely.
In the clip, all the figurines are seen on the "Painted Table" of Dragonstone. But it's not all ice; we also see Lannister South Lion catch fire. Clearly fire and ice are references to the series of books by George RR Martin, "A Song of Ice and Fire", which includes all five of his successful books on which the series is based.
In another teaser that fell in August, fans have glimpsed Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) hugging each other.
In June, CNN reported that HBO had ordered a pilot for a potential "Game of Thrones" spin-off. The prequel will take place thousands of years before the events of "Game of Thrones" and "tells the descent of the world from the age of the heroes' gold in its darkest hour."
WarnerMedia has both HBO and CNN.
