Giants, Board, Thomas, Eagles, Jackson

There was a scary injury in the file Giants Sunday game, as a New York receiver Board of Directors of C.J. fell with a neck injury that required him to be immobilized and taken off the pitch. Fortunately, it appears the worst case scenario has been avoided. The team announced that Board was diagnosed with a neck sprain and concussion after being taken to a local hospital. Trainer of the giants Joe Judge he said after the game that the initial feedback he received from doctors was “quite positive”

He also said the board was responsive and had movement in the extremities. At UDFA 2017, Board is in its first season with the Giants. The Chattanooga product has seven catches for 66 yards per year. I hope he recovers quickly and completely.

Now for more from the NFC East fight:

  • The Giants did not start the first rookie round Andrew Thomas Sunday in the left tackle, but it was not for his performance even if he did not play as well as the other tackles in the first round. Thomas was benched for disciplinary reasons after breaking a team rule, the judge said after the game. The judge didn’t go into too many details, but he didn’t make it sound too serious. Thomas came into play in the second quarter, and while that doesn’t seem like a big deal, it’s also not a very good sign for overall fourth pick development.
  • The Giants will play the Eagles Thursday Night Football this week, and Philly is finally starting to get better. DeSean Jackson is expected to return from hamstring injury for this week seven game, a source told ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter (Twitter link). Jackson has missed the last three games as the Eagles offense was besieged with injuries. The Philly interceptor group, in particular, has been slammed and Jackson will return a much-needed vertical threat to the passing attack. In two and a half games he had ten tricks for 121 yards before going down.
