Blizzard outlined the first expansion for the new season of Hearthstone, which will be released next month. The Rise of Shadows Expansion brings together several villains from the game's history into a Sinister Six team, along with 135 new cards to collect.
The plot revolves around the Arc-Thief Rafaam who organizes his "League of IL MALE" bringing out a robbery in Dalaran. They include King Togwaggle, Mrs Lazul, Dr. Boom and Hagatha the witch. Blizzard previously stated that this year each expansion will be linked into a single story, so this gives us an idea of the direction of the Year of the Dragon.
As always, the expansion will include some new mechanisms and types of cards to suit the taste of the expansion. The expansion will bring five new Lackeys, 1
Finally, the new cards will introduce a new keyword called Twinspell. When cast, these cards add a second copy of the spell to your hand. The second copy of the spell lacks Twinspell's benefit. These spells are an obvious favorite of a group of crime fighters called the Defenders of Dalaran, so it is likely that we will see the clash between heroes and villains developing as the story continues.
Rise of Shadows will be launched on April 9, with his solo adventure to follow one month later in May. As previously announced, that adventure will start with a free chapter, so subsequent chapters can be purchased for 700 gold coins each or the complete package for $ 20.
First everything starts, however, a pre-release event starting April 5 will guarantee you a free legendary card that can be used immediately. Furthermore, once launched, you will get a new chain of missions to earn free packages. A Shadow package during the launch week will offer 9 packages and an Arena ticket for $ 10. Pre-purchases will come on two levels: a $ 50 package that includes 50 packages, a back card and a Legendary card, or a package from 80 $ for 80 packages, the back card, a Golden Legendary and Madam Lazul Priest Hero. Have a look at our complete gallery of all the cards revealed so far, which will be updated as they become available.
