Hearthstone: The Doomsday Project expansion brings back the mechs

Blizzard today announced the upcoming expansion of Hearthstone, The Doomsday Project. It will be launched for PC and digital card game for mobile on August 7th.

The set and its 135 cards will be the first to focus on mechs since Hearthstone's first expansion, Goblins & Gnomes, which was released in 2014. Hearthstone is the king of the digital card games market, and new expansions give players a reason to buy more packages. The set includes new mechanics, such as the Magnetic keyword. This will combine the cards to share statistics and powers.

Each class also receives a Legendary Enchantment. We have seen Legendary Minions and Weapons, but this is the first time the spells have been treated.

In the meantime, Omega cards will have extra powers if you play them when you have 10 mana crystals, making sure you can keep them until you're late.

This is the second expansion of Hearthstone in 2018. Blizzard groups these sets into theme years, with this being the Year of the Raven. We will have a further expansion later in 2018. When the first expansion of 2019 comes out, we will see a standard rotation, which will make the unsuitable sets obsolete in the standard modes of the game.
