“I think what they were trying to do was kick me out of my game. They were trying to intimidate me from acting,” activist Melina Abdullah said in a video posted on social media Wednesday.

LAPD received a call alleging that three people were being held hostage by a man with a gun in a Los Angeles home, the department said in a news release.
“After the officers were able to verify the safety of the residents, the on-site investigation determined the call was a hoax,”
LAPD is asking anyone with information about the “crushing” incident, defined as “a false emergency call for the service, generally of a nature that elicits a broad police response”, to come forward. with information. The LAPD Major Crimes Division will investigate.
“Dozens and dozens of policemen, LAPD and others, showed up at my house this morning, guns drawn, assault rifles drawn, terrifying me and my children. We’re fine,” Abdullah said Wednesday.

Abdullah aired the incident live on Instagram Wednesday morning, the Los Angeles CBS reported.
Abdullah’s Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter has called for the ouster of County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, saying she failed to prosecute police officers involved in deadly shootings during her tenure.
Los Angeles city council member Herb Wesson said whoever made the fake call must be held “accountable.”
