Alaina Pinto starred as a guest in “Hubie Halloween”

Set in Salem, Massachusetts, Hubie Halloween uses his first 15 minutes to introduce Sandler’s character and the quirky holiday spirit of the city.

In those early scenes, a short newscast from a fictional Boston news station arrives on the TV screen. Three handmaids for Channel 4’s “Wake Up Boston” are dressed as Harley Quinn.

Real-life host Alaina Pinto appeared as one of the reporters – Erin – who wore Harley Quinn’s makeup and hair. Pinto’s character sits behind the desk and insults his colleagues for wearing the same costume, but he hasn’t cursed or made obscene gestures. It was only for a few seconds and it affected Pinto’s career.

Pinto fired from the Boston news station

On October 15, Pinto posted a series of tweets indicating that she was fired by WHDH Channel 7 in Boston for her role in the film. However, she is not a disgruntled employee. Pinto admitted filming a small cameo last year for Hubie Halloween and inadvertently violated his employment contract with WHDH.

Pinto explained that it was his oversight, writing: “By doing so, I have mistakenly violated my contract with the station and I understand why the management unfortunately chose to fire me. I am deeply disappointed and saddened, and I was hoping that this would not be how things would have evolved. “

He also thanked his colleagues and viewers for their support. “Reporting the news to you every morning has been an honor and a privilege. I promise to keep in touch and keep you updated on the next chapter – the future is bright! “Pinto wrote.

She joined Channel 7’s Boston team in 2016 and previously worked at a station in Vermont.

Pinto is moving forward

The former morning presenter is pressing, but some fans believe the news station may have overreacted. Pinto also posted the note on his Instagram account, and followers have expressed that they are discouraged from being fired.

Many wished her well and others tagged Adam Sandler in the post in the hopes that she could step in. Emmy-winning radio host Billy Costa urged her to contact someone at WCVB in Boston for a new opportunity. So far, WHDH has not commented on the matter.

According to Forbes, Hubie Halloween is on track to break one of Netflix’s “Top 10” records in the comedy genre. If it maintains its number one spot, it will be the longest running comedy series.

Depending on how the rest of the month goes for the movie, there’s a chance it could become the best Netflix comedy of the year.
