Hyundai’s next electric racing car hints at the future of sporty street electric vehicles

Hyundai’s electric sports car ambitions didn’t end with a revamped Veloster. The automaker unveiled an RM20e Racing Midship Sports Car that not only promises to augment its plans for motorsport, but reflects the “next generation” of N Performance cars – it is heralded as the world’s first “high performance” electric sports car companies of any kind. It’s powerful, as you’d expect from electric racing vehicles, but Hyundai also promises a balanced design that might even be road-ready.

As the name suggests, the 81

0HP engine sits in the center of the body. Not only does this allow the RM20e to reach 62 MPH in less than three seconds and 124 MPH in 9.88 seconds, but it allows for the traction, balance and braking you hope for in a racing car. Even so, the design purportedly delivers “everyday driving quietness” and responsiveness.
