A hiker in Utah shot a video showing a cougar chasing him for nearly six minutes.
Kyle Burgess, 26, said he was hiking around 5pm. Saturday at Slate Canyon Park in Provo, when he saw four puma cubs.
Then, the seeming mother of the cubs began chasing him.
“No, no go away, please go away,” said Burgess, a trail runner who was hiking alone, as he walked away from the puma chasing him on the trail.
At one point Burgess apparently says to the animal: “Come on, man, I don’t want to die today.”
The wild cat initially followed at a slow but steady pace, but then launched itself.
Burgess picked up a stone and threw it at the puma, who then escaped.
“My adrenaline was pumping so much,” Burgess later told NBC Salt Late City affiliate KSL. “I definitely thought, ‘Yes, I would have hurt myself.’
“It was good, it was exciting and then it was like, ‘What should I do?'” She said.
