Apple will release iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, it will bring many new features and performance improvements to its line of iPhones and iPads (here’s how get your iPhone or iPad ready today). The announcement was made at Apple’s September 15 “Time Flies” event, where the company also announced two new Apple Watchesit’s at iPad Air refurbished.

Apple has been continuously updating its iOS software since it released the first iPhone in 2007 and the first iPad in 2010. In recent years, the company’s added features such as a Dark mode, improved multitasking on the iPad by placing the apps and new privacy features such as Sign in with Apple, designed to prevent apps from collecting information from you without your knowledge.

In 2019, Apple split iOS and iPadOS, effectively promising it would focus resources on new iPad features that may not be coming to iPhone. The intent was to create an iPad experience that could be more competitive with a full computer experience. A new feature the company has released for the iPad is support for using a external mouse or trackpad, making it easier for people to use the device in conjunction with a keyboard.
