Jada Pinkett Smith may be known for her long acting career and her marriage and family with Will Smith. However, there is a family relationship that not all fans of the actress may be equally familiar with.

The brother of the actress and presenter, Caleeb Pinkett, is an actor who has worked in the entertainment industry for several years. Caleeb is Jada’s half-brother and they share a father, Robsol Pinkett Jr., who passed away in 2010.

Although Caleeb has been photographed with his sister on multiple occasions, both he and Jada have their lives outside of their sibling bond. However, they have a certain childhood upbringing and passions that have linked them in their adult lives.

Who is Caleeb Pinkett?

Caleeb Pinkett and Jada Pinkett Smith were born nine years apart. Caleeb was born on January 3, 1980 in Orange County, California. According to IMDb, Caleeb’s acting credits include Charmed, Terrace overlooking the lake, is Cuts. The actor also appeared in several episodes of Hawthorne, played by Jada. Caleeb also served as a producer on Annie, starring Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis.

More recently, Caleeb announced that he has teamed up with production company Rebel Maverick on a film, The blow to Dunbar. According to Variety, the film is based on Alyssa Keli Rose’s Medium article about a 1997 robbery at Dunbar’s armored facility in LA. During the robbery, five men stole $ 18.9 million in less than 30 minutes under the leadership of Allen Pace III.

Caleeb said he was interested in bringing the story to life because of his interest in robberies. He and the film’s producers expressed their enthusiasm for the film in a joint statement released in September 2020.

Jada said she and her brother have a “shared source of pain” through their father, and they both felt like they were taking on Robsol’s drug abuse.

“We had a lot of resentment,” Jada said. “We felt like we had to be responsible for him, but he never had to be responsible for us, and for me it was a hard pill to swallow.”

After several years of trying to establish a relationship with her father, Jada said she was angry with Robsol until the day he died. She decided to go back around once Jada became famous, but they never got the bond she wanted. Jada said that before Caleeb called her to tell her that their dad is dead, they had engaged in an intense discussion that continues to upset her.

“The hardest part about him dying like that is because he and I had a hideous fight when I found out he had a relapse,” she said. “I was like, ‘I don’t owe you anything. You didn’t do anything for me; you didn’t do anything for Caleeb. I don’t owe you anything.” He was one of them.
