The singer posted a video of himself on Instagram Thursday night, performing a song he dedicated to Teigen, and thanked fans for the good wishes and prayers.
“What a fantastic gift it is to be able to bring life into the world. We have experienced the miracle, the power and the joy of this gift, and now we have deeply felt its inherent fragility.”
“I wrote this song because I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold each other̵
The couple announced the death of their son, Jack, on social media channels on October 1, after Teigen was hospitalized after being in bed and bleeding for “just under a month.”
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” the statement shared on their social media channels states.
“We have never been able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions,” the post said. “It just wasn’t enough.”
The couple was praised for being open about pregnancy pain and difficulties.
With the first two pregnancies, the statement said, the couple waited to name the baby until after birth, but this time they had already started calling “the little guy in my belly” Jack.
“It will always be Jack for us,” the statement said. “Jack worked so hard to be part of our little family, and he will always be.”
