Jurgen Klopp tackles Takumi Minamino Liverpool’s riddle and Xherdan Shaqiri’s question

Liverpool continued the impressive start of the Premier League defense with victory over Arsenal on Monday night.

The Reds made a comeback by winning 3-1 at Anfield with Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson and new signing Diogo Jota all on target.

The Premier League and world champions now focus on the Carabao Cup with the Gunners again visitors in the fourth round of play on Thursday.

Jurgen Klopp will consider his options with Liverpool who will then face Aston Villa just three days later.

And here we look forward to the changes the Reds boss could make when his team is next in action.

Klopp considers the combination

As in the previous round in Lincoln City last week, everything will change for Liverpool̵

7;s starting XI – expect, perhaps, in defense.

Adrian will replace Alisson Becker in goal, while Kostas Tsimikas and Neco Williams are ready to resume full-backs in the competition.

The headache is over who plays in the heart of the baseline.

Joe Gomez is available again, while Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho played 45 minutes at LNER Stadium alongside rookie Rhys Williams.

With Sepp van den Berg also pushing for a seat, there is every chance that Klopp can once again opt for a combination of youth and experience.

Shaqiri or not?

James Milner was absent last week, but made a late cameo against the Gunners on Monday and will be the favorite to start in midfield.

Curtis Jones can look forward to another opportunity, while Xherdan Shaqiri was just as impressive at Lincoln with certainly just the physical shape that kept him from showing up from the start.

If Shaqiri can’t make it – he wasn’t on the bench on Monday – there could be a lineup change with Takumi Minamino from center behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1, although he could play advanced in a 4-3-3 .

A deal worth over £ 41m has been agreed to carry on at Anfield from Wolves, and is set to kick off Jurgen Klopp.

Marko Grujic could also be in contention if he has not signed a transfer away from Anfield.

It seems unlikely that Gini Wijnaldum or Naby Keita will start to have a prominent place in the Premier League opening matches.

The Origi question

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino can all expect a break.

And how the first three ranks depend a lot on where Minamino plays.

If the Japanese player plays in a midfield role, that would allow Divock Origi to play down the center of the attack with Diogo Jota on the left and Harvey Elliott on the right.

But if Minamino steps into role number nine – where he was impressive against Lincoln – that would leave Origi and Elliott giving up the role on the right, or it would see Origi go left and Jota right.

Certainly, Klopp has several ways to inflict further suffering on Arsenal.
