Kanye West leaves a great message for Chicago at the Gap Magnificent Mile Store – NBC Chicago

A few days after Kanye West announced a partnership with Gap, the music star and stylist left a message – very large – on the front of the clothing chain’s Magnificent Mile store.

West’s Yeezy clothing brand will design clothing for adults and children that will be sold in chain stores next year. In the huge note plastered on the facade of the Gap store, West noted that he would shop in the place where he lived in the south of Chicago.

The rap superstar added that she is “so blessed …” and “… so humiliated by the opportunity to serve,” adding that she puts her heart on the color palette and in every detail.

The Chicagoan brand is best known for the expensive sneakers that sell out quickly online. But Yeezy shoes, made with the sneaker company Adidas, will not be sold in Gap stores.

San Francisco-based Gap Inc., whose sales are dwindling, hopes the deal will keep it relevant to buyers. For Yeezy, being in over 1

,100 stores around the world could put the brand in front of more people.

On Friday, West tweeted a photo of what the collaboration might look like: colorful sweatshirts, jackets and shirts.

West has an affair with Gap. He worked in one of his stores in Chicago as a teenager and referred to it in the lyrics of “Spaceship” on his 2004 album “College Dropout”. And he told Vanity Fair magazine in 2015 that he wanted to become the brand’s creative director.

The complete message displayed at the front of the Gap store is below:

Thanks God
Hi Chicago, it’s me
This is [the] Empty shop
I was shopping when
I would drive my Nissan
from the south side
so blessed
I thank God and I am
so humiliated to
opportunity to serve
I put my heart in
color palette and each
detail I love Tron the original
You like things
I do not know what to do
my hands
Love YEEZY
