Divorce hasn’t been an easy experience for Kelly Clarkson since it was revealed in June that she and her husband Brandon Blackstock were separating.
The 38-year-old singer recently spoke to “Sunday Today” host Willie Geist and talked about the difficulties of her marriage.

“It’s no secret, my life has been a bit of a dumpster personally,” he admitted. “It’s been a bit difficult for the past couple of months.”
Fortunately, he has set up a support system.
“I’ve talked to friends who got divorced, I don’t know how people do it without having some sort of outlet,” she said. “Because it’s the absolute worst thing for everyone involved.”
Clarkson and Blackstock, 43, have been married for nearly seven years. They share two children: River, 6, and Remington, 4.

The drama of divorce can serve as an inspiration for the singer’s musical career.
“The next record will probably be the most personal I’ve ever released. The whole record is basically every emotion you feel from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now,” he explained.
The “Since U Been Gone” singer continued: “It was very therapeutic for me.”
He described his next album, which is due to debut next year, as “very honest”.

“There’s one that my kids sing in the car … and I’m like, ‘This is weird,'” he said with a laugh. “I’ve never written about my life where my children sing.”
