Glassner, one of the longest-serving supporters of Trump’s campaign, is moving to a different role in which he will help oversee the campaign’s various legal battles. Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said the decision “was not a reaction to Tulsa”.
“Michael Glassner is moving into the long-term role of navigating the many legal courses we face, including lawsuits against the mainstream media, some of which are likely to extend beyond the end of the campaign. He is one of the founding members of Team Trump and his dedication to the President’s success is unmatched, “added Murtaugh.
But two people claimed that the shuffle was the direct result of the Oklahoma demonstration and claimed that Glassner was positioning himself ̵
The move comes at a treacherous moment for the president, with polls showing him to drag Joe Biden with considerable margins. Kushner effectively oversaw the White House campaign, but with four months to go until the election, it should become even more practical.
DeWit, a former treasurer of the state of Arizona, is a Trump loyalist who played a key role in the president’s victory in 2016. Trump later appointed him to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer at NASA, a position DeWit has dropped out earlier this year.
DeWit had been in talks with Kushner for several weeks. In his new position, he will oversee everything from the budget to planning events and shows.
Trump, who was largely locked up in the White House in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, was eager to get going. But Tulsa’s bankruptcy hampered his plans. The campaign has weighed down by holding smaller events even if it hasn’t scheduled any yet.
