Kyler Murray tweeted that he is "fully committed to my life and my time to become an NFL quarterback", answering the question of whether he will choose football or baseball.
The Heisman Trophy winner issued a statement on his Twitter account on Monday, four days before he was scheduled to show up for spring training with Oakland Athletics.

Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray announced Monday that he is fully committed to becoming an NFL quarterback.
"Going forward, I am firmly and totally committed my life and my time to become an NFL quarterback," wrote Murray. "Football has been my love and my passion for life, I grew up playing QB and I can not wait to dedicate myself 100% of myself to be the best QB possible and win the NFL championships I prepare further for the next NFL workouts and interviews.We look forward to the opportunity to continue to demonstrate to the NFL decision makers who are the QB franchise in this draft. "
Murray was selected ninth overall last June and accepted a minor league contract that included a signing bonus of $ 4.66 million.
ESPN's drafters, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay, both chose Murray as their first-round pick. Kiper says, "He's incredibly athletic and one of the best double threat quarterbacks he's ever seen: he can make every shot, and he does it with timing, tact and balance, he could be a good NFL quarterback."  According to Elias Sports Bureau, no player has ever been chosen for the first round in the NFL and MLB drafts.
