A pair of Portuguese lesbian lovers inspired by serial killer Showtime’s “Dexter” TV series allegedly killed and hacked a man, cutting his fingers off to log into his bank account and steal an inheritance of over $ 77,000.
Maria Malveiro, 19, and her girlfriend Mariana Fonseca, 23, a nurse, are accused of killing Diogo Goncalves, a 21-year-old worker, in Portugal earlier this year.
Gruesome details about Goncalves’ murder surfaced as prosecutors prepared to put Malveiro and Fonseca on trial.
Investigators say Goncalves was strangled on March 18 and that the two women allegedly cut off his fingers to access his bank account from his cell phone, using his fingerprints to swipe cash, the Sun reported, citing Portuguese media.
The women allegedly dismembered Goncalves and held his head, forearms, hands and feet for five days after killing him and throwing his torso overboard, according to the Sun.
They later threw the rest of his body parts overboard from the cliffs in the Algarve town of Sagres, the report said.
Local media reported that the gruesome crime occurred after Malveiro seduced Goncalves.
Allegedly, she took advantage of Goncalves being attracted to her to give him an orange juice with a sedative after promising him a lap dance at her home, reports said.
An indictment alleges that the women spent three days between March 20 and March 23 sending messages from Goncalves̵
Investigators say Goncalves’ torso ended up on land, eventually leaving key clues.
Malveiro reportedly admitted to a local judge who questioned her after the crime that she and Fonesca were inspired by the US TV series “Dexter”.
The women will be tried for a range of crimes including murder, desecration of a body, computer fraud and use of a stolen vehicle, reports say.
