A former Florida appointee will be the one who paves the way for Ole Miss in her quest to upset the No. 5 Saturday morning in Oxford.
Matt Corral, who was involved in Florida for five months in 2017, is expected to be the starting quarterback of the rebels against the Gators, sources told AL.com.
The sophomore year in the red jersey, a former top-65 rookie who started the first four games for Ole Miss last season, had competed with sophomore John Rhys Plumlee for the rebels starting QB job.
It looks like Corral won̵
Plumlee, one of the nation’s most dangerous runners in the quarterback position, finished last season with 1,023 running yards and 12 running touchdowns. However, Corral is more of a pro-style passer-by and was ranked as the fourth best pro-style quarterback in the 2017 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
The game against Florida will be Ole Miss’s first with Lane Kiffin as head coach. The rebels enter the match as underdogs by 14 points, according to Vegas Insider.
