Megyn Kelly NBC show: Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, NBC News reach separation agreement as she officially leaves “Today” show

NBC News announced its professional divorce agreement with Megyn Kelly late Friday evening. The separation agreement ends an association with the former star of Fox News Channel whose attempt to become a star of the morning network television as part of the show "Today" has failed.

Terms have not been disclosed. Kelly was in the second of a three-year contract which, they say, paid her more than $ 20 million a year. Many press agencies reported that he would receive the remaining amount of his contract.

She was excluded from October after creating a rage by suggesting that it was OK for white people to wear the black face on Halloween and exit negotiations had dragged on for two months during the holidays. Even before the controversial comment, his future was considered limited by NBC News.

"The parties have resolved their differences and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC," the network said in a statement Friday evening.

NBC says that Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones will be replaced in the third hour of the "Today" show.

His assignment was also a failure for Andrew Lack, the president of NBC News, who attracted her to Fox News Channel with the kind of big money contract that was once standard in TV news, but now it's less financial constraints and fewer views. In a sense, Kelly was captured in a land of non-woman: some at NBC were suspicious of her because of the background of Fox News, while her former Fox audience resented her for the difficult questions of Donald Trump on the track presidential. Reported to NBC by interviewing women who accused Mr. Trump of inappropriate behavior and spoke to Harvey Weinstein, Bill O & Reilly, Roy Moore and others, as well as women who claim to have been molested in Capitol Hill. The incident with Mr. Trump's accusers had more than 2.9 million viewers, one of his biggest audience on the network.

Time magazine, which honored "The Silence Breakers" as a Person of the Year in 2017, cited Kelly as the leading group in the entertainment industry.

But the harsh segments of the charges against former NBC actress Matt Lauer did not win his friends internally, as did his public call for Lack to appoint external investigators to understand why the network did not broadcast Ronan The Stories by Farrow on Harvey Weinstein and allowed Farrow to bring his story to The New Yorker.

When those stories began to fade, Kelly had trouble attracting an audience into the soft-focus world of morning television. He also briefly hosted an evening newsmagazine that did not capture viewers. Kelly made excuses in tears to the spectators who followed her comments in black, but it turned out to be her last appearance on NBC News.

"What's racist?" she said on the show. "Really, you get into trouble if you're a white person wearing a black Halloween face or a black person wearing a white face for Halloween." When I was a kid, it was fine, as long as you dressed like a character. "[19659012] When did Halloween costumes racially or culturally appropriated?

Critics accused him of ignoring the bad story of minstrel shows and films in which whites applied black faces to false blacks. [19659003] It is not immediately clear what Kelly's future will be. NBC will not comment on Friday if the separation agreement allows her to write about her experiences on the network.

There is no non-compete clause, which means that Kelly is free to look for other television works, if she wishes.
