According to Down Detector, a website that tracks internet outages, users have reported problems with logging in, connecting to the server, and Outlook. The downtime started around 5 p.m. ET for Office 365, according to the site, and is hitting users heavily in the California and Washington areas.
Microsoft attributed the outage to a recent change to the platform at first, but after indicated it wasn’t “seeing an increase in successful connections after undoing a recent change. We are working to evaluate additional mitigation solutions as we investigate the root cause.”
