Trailers

There have been numerous trailers in the run-up to release, from a historical trailer, taking it back to when the Flight Simulator series started in the 1980s, to a deep dive into how they created the world of Flight Sim.

In what we believe to be the first in a series of partnership trailers, we can see how Bing Maps worked with Flight Sim to produce the game’s stunning scenery.

Take a look at what different procedures have been put in place to bring different areas to life.

The following trailer was released on Monday 13th July while pre-orders have been released!

We can see what the graphics look like when playing on an “ideal” set-up with this Oceania trailer.

We expect more locations to be revealed in this series in the coming weeks.

PC requirements

We can see from the image below what the requirements are for playing MFS.

flight simulator specifications

You’ll need the Windows 10 November 2019 Update to run it on any PC.

8GB of RAM is required, with 32GB being the ideal specification!

Get ready for hard drive space, with 150GB needed to start playing.

Positions

The world is literally your oyster in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Every single airport in the world will be at your disposal to take off and land.

With the whole world at your disposal, where should you go?

Here are our top picks when you get the jet set.

The finest details

As you may have seen from some trailers, the details of the flight simulators stretch as far as the eye can see!

Animals are featured in the game and include elephants, giraffes, flamingos and more!

And from some of the footage we’ve seen, even the wild life has an amazing level of detail. They are also well animated and look great up close.

You will also see cars and vehicles moving on land, which gives the feeling of flying over a living, breathing world.

The details don’t stop there either, with one Reddit user showing how accurately the game recreates landmarks around the world by comparing them to images from Google Earth. Spoiler alert: they are almost creepy!

Gameplay

With its improved physics engine, Flight Sim will look much more realistic.

You will still be able to use compatible joystick controls
making the game incredibly realistic.

Whether the game will involve tactile responses to changes in elevation and turbulence, we don’t know yet and will have to wait for more information on this, or even for a full version of the game.

Multiplayer

The most peculiar requirement is, of course, the bandwidth.

ABOVE THE CLOUDS: This game has been in development for a while, so we expect great things!

Then again, in order for the “seamless” multiplayer feature to really pay off, you should at least aim for the recommended requirements.

In a recent interview, the developers confirmed that the minimum bandwidth should still be more than enough to still have a “good representation of the world”.

10 disc version

For those who wish to own a physical copy of the epic Flight Simulator, you may be getting more than you thought … ten times more in fact.

For players in Europe, you will be able to purchase a pack of 10 game discs, which come in an expandable box.

YOUR DISCS CAN BE FOUND HERE, HERE AND HERE – this extensive bundle is almost a collector’s edition in itself

Why buy discs when you can download them? Well, remember that not everyone has super-fast internet access or space for the whopping 150GB of data for the new game.

The disks reach up to 90GB of data and don’t require insane internet speeds to install. However, an update from Microsoft will still be required before you can play the game.

World and simulation updates

There will be free updates in the future that will come in two forms: world updates and changes to the simulation part of the game.

The world is continually updated by the latest data from Bing Maps and actually updates every 28 days!

FREE UPDATE: The world of Flight Simulator is constantly updated with real world data!

There will also be new airports, landing challenges, and more in the future.

When it comes to simulation changes, the focus is more on flight mechanics and perfecting the flight simulation experience.

Will there be DLCs?

Good news for Flight Sim players, as there will be DLC coming to the game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is planning to introduce paid DLC, which will arrive every few months.

We’re super excited to see how the game expands and expands their already impressive vehicle catalog!
