Miles Morales shows Spider-Cat

If there’s one thing the internet loves more than superheroes, it is bodega cats, that is, the real heroes who make the world better out there, doing the work of sitting in old food boxes and looking at you with adorable boredom when you buy a soda or one smoke pack. But what if we told you, dear reader, that the magical realm of video games has finally managed to combine these two topics into one absolutely compelling, we-imagine-must-play-this-now package?

Come in … Spider-Cat.

8 Marvel’s Spider-Man, Spider-Cat clearly isn’t the hero we deserve, but him is the hero we need, because he’s a cat who helps Spider-Man beat up bad guys. This is in addition to his civil duties, under the guessable name of alter ego “Spider-Man, the cat”, who probably chases mice and is also incredibly adorable living in a cellar. At first, it looks like it might just be a source of feline flavor and lovability, but no, it looks like Miles can really fit Spider-Cat in his backpack, which will help you get rid of enemies. (We can only hope it replaces the previous game’s gadget system entirely, swapping the web shooters and what you have for laser pointers and treats.)

Spider-Man: Miles Morales (A Spider-Cat Adventure, featuring Spider-Cat) will be released on November 12; will appear on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, for which it will be one of the most important launch titles of the new console.
