Before the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round of 2019 begins, let's have a good time giving a look at the spreads of today's games. (Click here for Round Divisions selections without regard to the spread.)
Here are some suggestions when you try to beat the odds. You can find all current NFL betting lines and more via SB Nation. My overall record is now 125-128-7 after playing 2-1-1 in the Wild Card round.
Divisional Round Games
Indianapolis Colts to Kansas City Chiefs (- 5): The Chiefs have not won a playoff game at home since the 1
Dallas Cowboys to Los Angeles Rams (- 7): Do you know how some teams really move to the level of their competition? Cowboys do not. Instead, they drag you to theirs. The defense of Dallas is legitimately good and should be able to stifle the overestimated combination of Sean McVay and Jared Goff. Everything that speaks of "NFL teams are looking for the next McVay" will seem so silly as it drops to 0-2 in the playoffs. Ezekiel Elliott will be able to feast on a Rams defense that occupies the 28th place in defense. I simply do not see how one can not think that this game will be at least close as the Rams have struggled against playoff caliber teams. Furthermore, it is not like the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum which offers a huge advantage in the field. Saturday night there will be many Cowboys fans in Los Angeles. PICK: Cowboys +7
Los Angeles Chargers to New England Patriots (- 4): Tom Brady is 19-3 at home in the playoffs. The patriots are 106-18 at home in the all-time games started by Brady. The story says not to bet against the Pats, even if they seem more vulnerable than usual. I like the Chargers, so it's nothing against them. But they are back-to-back trips to the East Coast for them and will also have to deal with the cold (29 degrees). PICK: Patriots -4
Philadelphia Eagles to New Orleans Saints (- 8): I wrote a billion times now: I do not know why you bet against this team of Eagles. They find only one way to win. I know the Saints are really good at home. I know that the Saints beat the Eagles 48-7 the last time these two teams played in week 11. But I do not care. The Eagles have a great coach at Doug Pederson. Nick Foles is playing at a very high level. The whole team is really stepping up. It will not be easy but the Eagles have what it takes to win in New Orleans. At the very least, I do not see them keeping him close. Eagles are a group of losers looking for revenge with nothing to lose. They are dangerous PICK: Eagles +8
