The defense of the Ducks put out the three best of the Pac-1
Utah took a lead of 24-18 in the first-half locker room after bottling up the Oregon attack in the first half. The Ducks shot 8 of 29 during the opening half.
The Utes were particularly effective during the last stages of the first semester. Trailing 14-13 eight minutes before the break, Utah finished the first half with a 11-4 run. Half of the first-half offense of Utes came from Donnie Tillman, who had 12 points in the first 20 minutes. Utah held the Oregon at two points from its first half off season.
But the ducks were different in the second half. The blows began to fall and the defense remained a constant. Oregon scored the first six points of the medium to tie the game to 24-24. Pritchard then launched five quick points, including one on a pass in the middle of the field and a layup, to put Ducks in front of 31-28.
Pritchard scored nine of the first 13 points in the second half of the Oregon. Then it became the King's turn to shine. During a four-minute stretch he had a three-point play on a fallback, a three-pointer and a driving layup.
Oregon has slowly increased its advantage, pushing it to 45-36 on the Victor Bailey Jr. layup seven minutes remaining. Later, Utah cut the deficit to four by two against Timmy Allen, but White quickly silenced the Utes' hike by hitting a three-pointer.
