The Toronto police said they had identified the woman who threw a chair from a multi-story balcony on a freeway, and I asked her to surrender.
His dangerous joke was captured by the camera and posted online, where he was seen more than 700,000 times.
The chair seems to fall towards the Gardiner Expressway, one of the busiest motorways in the country, but there are no reported injuries.
Internet hounds have tried to track down the woman since Monday.
In the video, which was originally published on Snapchat, the woman can be seen happily throwing a chair from a multi-story balcony onto the highway below.
The video was then uploaded to Facebook, where it became viral and attracted the attention of local authorities.
"We believe we know who it is," said Toronto police spokesman David Hopkinson.
He said that the police contacted her directly and advised her to surrender, but a storm in Toronto meant that her surrender could be delayed.
They have neither released identity nor his hometown.
A Reddit post claimed to show the chair, split, on a sidewalk near the same highway.
