Protesters took to the streets in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Sunday, just hours after police shot and killed a man who authorities said was captured by video footage “wielding a knife over his head” in menacing way.

The Lancaster District Attorney’s Office said the investigation is in its early stages. But videos surfaced online showing protesters outside Lancaster Police Headquarters calling for accountability.
GRAPHIC LANGUAGE ATTENTION
The office released a statement Sunday night claiming that 27-year-old shot dead, Ricardo Munoz, was armed with a knife and pronounced dead on the spot Sunday evening.
The office said so video showed Munoz walking out of a house and brandishing the knife in a threatening manner.
“The officer then fired,” the statement read. “No one else was hit.”

“A shooting involved by police has a significant impact on a community, as we are seeing with the large number of people gathering on the streets,” said District Attorney Heather Adams, according to CBS Philadelphia. “However, I ask that all reactions be tempered while the investigation is ongoing.”
