Rockstar Games new GTA 6 “update” was confirmed as a false alarm. This week, the official Rockstar Support Twitter account responded to a user looking for information on the next installment in Grand Theft Auto series. And his response has generated some hype thanks to articles that have blindly promoted it as significant, not realizing it’s a standard Rockstar support response. In other words, if you expect it GTA 6 to be imminently revealed due to this tweet, well, you will find yourself in a world of disappointment.

That said, this isn’t all of the tweet included. He followed this confirmation of “no news” with a “stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official updates”. As you’d expect, some mistakenly took this second part as something noteworthy, not knowing that this is the standard Rockstar support response. He always answers questions of this variety with something like this.

Alas, if you’ve seen titles and videos run off with this answer as a possible tease or something noteworthy, well it’s not. This does not mean GTA 6 will not be revealed soon. It could very well be, but this is not an indication of what is happening.
