Statement on COVID-19 Positive Fan



As reported by the Kansas City Department of Health, a guest who attended Thursday night’s game at Arrowhead Stadium tested positive for COVID-19. We have worked closely with Dr. Rex Archer and the Kansas City Department of Health to provide all relevant information available.

The contact tracking mechanisms that the club has in place, including parking and ticket scanning data, as well as review of the video recording, indicate that the individual who tested positive and the individual’s group entered the stage in accordance with the mandates of the mask. This process allowed the team to identify other guests seated with this person, the service personnel this person may have come into contact with, as well as any other ticket holders close to this person upon entering the stadium. Within hours of the notification, the leaders were able to locate the names of the other party members, as well as detailed information on the route and place of entry, and this information was provided to the Department of Health. Stadium tracking capabilities allow for extended communication to better understand guest activity in the days before and after the Thursday night match.

7;s group were seated in the lower level of the stadium. By design, the stadium’s COVID protocol plan limited potential exposure to a single seating area within the stadium. All personnel with known interactions with the positive case were required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a mask. Furthermore, the protocols in place at the stadium require that all participants wear masks inside the stadium.

Compliance with protocols remains a key component in making this plan effective. We appreciate the Department of Health’s professionalism and diligence and will continue to support its efforts in this matter throughout the season.
