We already know that the PlayStation 5 it’s the largest video game console in modern history, but a new illustration has made it clear just how big the machine is.
On Twitter, illustrator and 3D modeler @keisawada has put together a series of images that really put the size of next generation consoles into perspective.
The PS5 is positioned next to a Nintendo Switch, an Xbox Series X, an Xbox Series S, a 30 “TV and a regular PS4. The difference in size is evident.

Sony’s next-generation PlayStation dominates other consoles and almost threatens to match the size of the TV as well. It really is a huge kit.
We know why Sony’s machine is so big: it’s mainly due to the cooling. Matt MacLaurin, vice president of UX Design on PlayStation, already explained in a LinkedIn post that the PS5 is overheating. As such, it needs more space to properly ventilate the heat.
The console hasn’t launched yet and is already causing an online schism; some players think it looks cute and futuristic, others think it looks old-fashioned and imposing.
Whatever you think about it, though, you can’t argue with its absolutely huge size. The PS5 is around 390mm tall, 260mm deep and 104mm wide (and the digital version is just 12mm thinner).
Sony will release two consoles in November; the standard model and digital-only models will cost you $ 499 and $ 399 respectively.
