Trump ‘hasn’t been fair’ to OPEC, Oman’s oil minister says

The oil minister of Oman believes that President Donald Trump has given OPEC some undue criticality. But echoing other Gulf ministers, Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhi emphasized his desire to avoid political animosity with the American leader, who seems eager to give him the benefit of the doubt.

4-member cartel for his management of oil production, urging the group to keep the taps open and the oil prices low. "OPEC is robbing us," Trump said in a tweet last October.

In December, OPEC members together with Russia reached an agreement to cut their crude oil production by 1.2 million barrels of oil a day from the market in order to stem the fall in prices, something which has further attracted Trump's wrath.

"Unfortunately there are policies, but sometimes politics forces people to turn to social media or CNBC to present their case, and this is today's reality," said the minister.
